Running in she found the shuttles. Looking to each one she tried to figure out the systems. However with them being new to her like the others were she had to use the AI to assist her. This took some time, but she got the shields up. From there she moved on to the others to reinforce the shields of the first. When all that was done then came the part that worried her. Taking steps to the edge of the ship L1 leaned over and made sure to place a firm step on the outside of the ship before leaning out.

Feeling steady ran across the surface of the ship as best the locks would let her. She made sure to have a strong connection before each step. Otherwise she would stop completely before taking another. It took her some time, but she did made it to what she could see was the shield emitter. Checking on it she was here to make sure it wasn't severely damaged.

The sheild emitters were fine from what she could tell, only burned out if she could replace them with a spare they would be in good condition all the electrical connections were fine.

Nodding she had an idea, but it was probably a bad one. She was going to see if she could steal a couple off the shuttles. That way they could hopefully have enough output to cover the bridge as well as the other decks. Though, before she did any of this she checked to see how much of it could be fixed. Using her vision with assistance she tried to see what could be fixed easily, and what would need to be salvaged. Of course disconnecting it first as to not be shocked to death.

Getting to work she brought up a finger. She felt odd doing this, but she lifted a finger off its point where it overlapped and using a bit of heat from her coils she try to see if she could solder anything that was broken together. Mostly to rig it into working order.
Avatar
Narrator BOT 21-Nov-21 06:50 PM
She could potentially solder it together, though she would need to replace some of the silicon based wiring.
Avatar
L1 | CIV BOT 21-Nov-21 06:56 PM
Thinking of the ship then what she had in her arm she thought it a suitable replacement. Slipping one free from its socket she opened the panel containing the false muscle and pulled one of the strands free. She knew she would have to get it replaced to function properly, but she didn't care. Putting each end in their place she smiled before slotting it back in. She did solder it together to make sure it would hopefully work.

Looking at the emitter she flicked it back on and made sure to stand back. Mostly to keep it from scrambling her circuits with its output. Hoping she waited for any sign it was working.

The shields sprang to life as she solder and replaced the wiring.

Smiling L1 made her way back inside. Though, she did have to leave her arm off as to not cause a short. Still she was glad to have it working again so they have a chance to pressurize all of the ship rather than some parts. Making her way back in slower thanks to her lost arm L1 slowly climbed back in making sure to have a good grip on the ground before slipping in unsure of where to go now.

The shuttle bay was prepared as per the bridge orders. All equipment was moved away and secured. As well as the shuttles being secured with encrypted codes. A full security team was armed with phaser rifles.

The ship materialized here as planned. It was in rough condition, the hull was scorched harshly. It showed no signs of activity. However the crew didn’t exactly know how to open the door, all they could do was scan it, and fiercely point weapons at it. And hoped whoever was inside was in a deep sleep.

Captain Mona Caddel | CMD BOT 09-May-22 08:08 PM
Mona grabbed everything she had previously mentioned, phaser, and tricorder were attached to hip holsters, and she proceeded into the #deleted-channel leaving the medical kit for someone else who had a little more experience concerning basic first aid.

Lt. Cdr. Evelyn Forsythe | ENG BOT 09-May-22 08:10 PM
As before, Evelyn was close behind, half-immersed in a final once-over of her toolkit. No cerulean paint, unfortunately.
Avatar
Cadet Sauk Tral | OPS BOT 09-May-22 08:11 PM
Sauk grabbed all the mentioned items, hands shaking as he moved. Shoe followed along faithfully, her head held high. She didn’t exactly understand what was happening, but she was happy to help. He followed inside slowly, still on edge.

Ensign Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 09-May-22 08:14 PM
Eshen grabbed All The Things and, pending the entry of someone more qualified, the medkit as well, then headed to the #deleted-channel.
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Hanna Stone | TAC BOT 10-May-22 01:01 AM
She had grabbed a phaser, tricorder, and a medkit as she was qualified enough to make emergency medical procedures thanks to her fiancé and his training he had insisted she knew. She stepped into the #deleted-channel alongside the rest.

Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 01:13 PM
They arrived! Looking around, it was smaller than the one on the station, but still just as good. They went around, looking at the names painted on the side, when they saw a shuttle named ‘Poseidon’ and knew automatically it was the best one. “Hello there,” They grinned.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 01:17 PM
Not too long after them, another person entered the ship’s shuttle bay. It was a woman, average height (though bordering on small), slim built, dressed in uniform. She made her way through the rows of shuttles, letting her eyes glide over them. She was just in time to hear a person saying ‘Hello there’ to a nearby shuttle. “You know that shuttle personally?”, she asked with a minimalistic smile on her lips.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 01:19 PM
Comet turned swiftly on their heels. “Nope! I’m just meeting him right now. Lt. JG Eco Comet, shuttlecraft engineer. I decided to check out what the Eventide shuttles were like. I’m a sucker for mythological names,” They said with a grin.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 01:23 PM
At that last sentence, Mika’s eyes behind the glasses went briefly to the shuttle. ‘Poseidon’; ah yes, she could see the relation. “I see,” she said, and looked at the engineer again. “Nice to meet you, Junior Lieutenant Comet. I’m Namika Grey.” She offered a hand for a handshake.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 02:39 PM
Comet accepted, shaking with a firm, but not hand crushing grip. “Namika, that’s an interesting name, but I guess I can’t be judging. Comet isn’t very normal a name, either,”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 02:52 PM
“Actually, Eco Comet is a really interesting name,” said Namika after shaking their hand. “I’m also just here to check out the shuttles by the way. I’m a pilot.” (edited)
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 02:53 PM
“Ahh, a pilot. Well, I actually chose my name, so any interesting-ness credit goes to me,” They informed her. “So, you fly them, I fix them?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 02:54 PM
“You chose your own name? Pretty cool,” she commented, pushing her hands into the pockets that her uniform totally had. But not before pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. “Have you had to work on these shuttles already?”, she asked.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 02:56 PM
“Haven’t gotten the chance! I’ve been busy with the ones on the station, but I figured I’d check these out, just because! This one has a plasma stream rupture…minor thing, but could be bad if it doesn’t get fixed. I’ll be working on it, for sure,” They nodded, turning to another shuttle. (edited)
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:08 PM
“Oh, yeah, better get it checked out here while it’s still docked. Nasty thing to deal with mid-flight. I’ve been there,” said Namika, nodding along. The way she stood in the shuttle bay, posture relaxed, it seemed like she felt at home here amongst these vehicles. Her eyes slid over the shuttles. “What’s the status of the other ones? They fit?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:09 PM
“Hmm…I’ve got a bad feeling about the one closet to the bay doors,” Comet said, scanning the room both with a tricorder and their eyes. “It could be nothing, but I’m going to check it out just to be safe,”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:11 PM
“Mind if I tag along?”, she asked them. “I’m not an engineer but I know a thing or two about shuttles.” She’d learned the basics at the Academy and then she’d picked up experience and knowledge during her first posting. And Isaac had told her about shuttle mechanics as well, of course. Not that she was thinking about Isaac right now. She refused to.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:14 PM
“No prob!” Comet said, gesturing for her to follow as they entered the shuttle. Nothing looked wrong, so far…but their instincts told them to investigate the navigation system. They popped open the panel, and a cloud of smoke hit their face. “Holy shit,” They coughed. “I think a circuit overheated,”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:16 PM
“Looks like it,” said Namika. “Happens sometimes when the pilot is too impatient during the landing. Can I help with anything? Check the other circuits maybe?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:17 PM
“That would be helpful, I need to get started over here,” Comet nodded, pulling a cross-manifold expander out of their toolkit.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:19 PM
“Aye, I’ll check them out.” She went into the shuttle and took a look at several panels, opening a few of them and checking the circuits. “Hm, doesn’t look fishy here. I think it’s just the navigation system,” she responded as she returned to stand next to Comet.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:20 PM
“That’s good, less work for me. Hand me the reactuator, will you?” They prompted, running the CME across several circuits near the back.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:22 PM
“There you go,” said Namika, handing over the device. She instantly knew what they were talking about from personal experience (mainly from fixing hoverbikes) and from experience with Isaac. No, wait, she said she didn’t wanna think about him. Fuck. “Is the engineering division quite busy at the time?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:23 PM
“Ehh, depends on what you work on. Shuttlecraft engineers like me are always busy fixing shuttles after you pilots run away missions,” Comet replied, using the reactuator to stop the steam that was still puffing out in a steady cloud.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:26 PM
Namika listened and then gave a small sigh. “I wish I ran away missions,” she muttered. She kind of envied Comet for being so busy, as weird as that sounded. Mika felt like she didn’t really have a lot to do while the Eventide was docked, and honestly her inactivity was making her uncomfortable.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:28 PM
“I’m sure you’ll get the chance soon! You just got here, right?” They asked, shutting the reactuator and looking through their toolkit to grab the tachyon injector.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:31 PM
“Yes, you’re right. I’ve just been…” She interrupted herself and said, “The tachyon injector is over there.” How had she known what they were looking for? Simple. She’d payed attention. And she was smarter than she liked to let on. “I’ve just been doing very short range shuttle runs and the Eventide has been docked for the past few weeks. So, here I am…” Doing nothing, essentially.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:32 PM
“Oh, thanks,” Comet picked up the injector and used it to, well, inject some tachyons, obviously. They listened to her words, nodding sympathetically. “I know what it can feel like. My friend Sul is a pilot, but he spends most of his time running errands, because he’s only an ensign. You’ll get there, eventually,”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:37 PM
They were right, she presumed. Except they weren’t. Back on the Tyrga, Namika had spent almost every shift on the bridge, in the middle of the actions, where she liked to be. Now, after the transfer, she was back to taking shuttles from A to B and back to A. She didn’t want to be ungrateful, but she had to admit that it felt like a downgrade to her. But this wasn’t the time to discuss her personal issues with this posting. She’d brought the posting on herself, and she had to deal with it on her own. “Yeah, guess you’re right,” she said. “So, how long have you been stationed here?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:41 PM
“Month? Couple months? I loose track of time,” Comet shrugged, scanning their work so far with a tricorder. They were doing a pretty good job balancing conversation and repairs, in their opinion. They rolled their neck. According to the tricorder, they just had to recalibrate the navigation chips, and the shuttle would be good to go. Perfect. They moved to pick up the tool, a glow-wand looking thing. “I’m sure things will pick up soon,”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:44 PM
She wanted them work and let them concentrate for a moment. After all, she didn’t want to distract them from their work. Then she asked, “So, are you liking the posting so far?”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:45 PM
“Yeah, it’s great!” Comet said with a smile. “I actually have quarters here! On the Ohio, my last posting, we slept in bunks in the hall,” They laughed. “This is for sure an upgrade,” They said as they finished the repair and replaced the covering to the circuitry.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:47 PM
Huh, thought Namika. Well, that made one of them at least. But she had to be more grateful, really. There were a number of people on here that she liked — Ava, Ken, Mo. She couldn’t complain. Well. Technically she could, but then she’d have to think of Isaac again. “I get that. Sleeping in bunks sounds… well, it sounds like you really got to know your coworkers very well. You think it’s all good now?”, she asked, looking at the panel.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Eco Comet | ENG BOT 25-May-22 03:49 PM
“Yep! Fit to fly!” Comet nodded, patting the walls. “If it acts up again, though, COMM me, and I can come down to fix it. I’m gonna go work on that plasma manifold rupture,” They picked up their toolkit and began to move toward the shuttle door.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 03:57 PM
“I will,” said Namika. She followed Comet out of the shuttle and then gave them a small wave. “I’ll leave you to your work now. It was nice meeting you.”
Avatar
Lt. JG. Namika Grey | CMD BOT 25-May-22 04:08 PM
With that, Namika left.

Science and Operations crew had set up a hodge-podge emergency containment system for the trilithium in the shuttlebay, with holofields separating it from the rest of the ship. Once given the go ahead the trilithium-based items that were tagged were transported in, along with anything else the transporter officers could get a lock with, and the teams went about securing the cargo as carefully as possible before stepping back to a safe monitoring position. If all else failed they could jettison it.
